Even in the most extreme circumstances, we always have the ability to choose how we understand what is happening to us, and to imagine ways to deal with it.
The role of idea control as an oppressive mechanism is to limit our imaginations, convince us that only certain possibilities exist, and reduce our ability to understand and invent better alternatives for how to exist.
