Truths people don't want to know about healing:

Nobody else can fix you.

Nobody will ever show up with just the right combination of words, gestures, and gifts that will make it all go away and make everything better.

It simply isn't possible, and that's not how healing truly works.

We all need support, ideas, perspective, tools, and techniques from each other. Healing doesn't happen alone, either.

But until we make our own personal commitment, to choose to do our own work of healing, nothing can truly change in us. From the outside, the best anyone can do is inform, encourage, and celebrate us as we move forward.

Every journey of healing is unique, just like every one of us who decides to undergo it. But all journeys of healing have something in common:

We're the only ones who can make progress for ourselves.
